Hil St. Soul masters the art of gratitude on her current single, “Nasilfya.” The song is a dedication to her father, who passed in 2024. In the video, she reflects back on her life and shows love to her family, who are her biggest supporters. The clip was filmed in her native Zambia, and it is a moving photo album of personal history with her at the center. She was forthcoming in a press release about the meaning of “Nasilfya.”
“It’s a spiritual song about divine reflection, full of humanity, gratitude, hope, and the deepest ‘thank you’ to those who have lived to inspire us all to follow in the footprints of their achievements. This is in reference to my dad, who is no longer with us, but his spirit lives on through me and my music. My dad was the one that introduced me to the music that’s woven into the songs that I create for others to enjoy.”
“Nasilfya” is the title track of Hil St. Soul’s sixth album coming out in March. The first single from the album was the last one completed, as it was hard for her to finish it after her father’s passing. She is starting this new era of her life with an album that has her working exclusively with one producer since her debut. Regi Myrix produced the songs that remain true to her soul roots but also show the growth in her artistry. “Nasilfya” is one of the most beautiful ways to say thank you.
