“I Will Follow” opens today and it is a new film directed by Ava DuVernay about the loss of her aunt. The film stars Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Omari Hardwick in a story that revolves around the 12 visits Richardson receives on the day she moves out of the home she shared with her aunt. This is DuVernay’s second film her first being the award-winning hip-hop documentary “This Is The Life.” The former publicist has already taken her film-making itch beyond directing and created the African-American Film Festival Releasing Movement to distribute two independent African-American films per year starting with “I Will Follow.” The film can be seen in select AMC Theatres.
