Amerigo Gazaway’s second installment in his Yasiin Gaye project, The Return (Side Two) is now available for download. Gazaway used Gaye’s early sampling in his production work as inspiration. His liner notes break down the anatomy of each song with corresponding anecdotes. The Brooklyn meets Motown vibe gets injected by a humorous cartoon drawn by Drew Dernavich which pokes fun at the RIAA’s stance on copyrights.

The teaser video for Yasiin Gaye’s “The Return Side Two” starts with Yasiin Gaye walking and rapping through the streets of Tokyo. But the video gets eerie with footage of Marvin Gaye boxing, his funeral and his father appearing in court for murdering him.
