Willie Jones’ Down By The Riverside Gets Lyrical Animation Treatment

Willie Jones from X-Factor reworks the slave spiritual “Down By The Riverside” with his country and hip-hop influences. The song is turned into lyrical animation for the video. Jones was a contestant on X-Factor in 2012 where he impressed the notoriously difficult judge Simon Cowell. He did not win the competition but is still making his dreams come true as a rising artist. The video for his most popular song “American Dream” came out in January and in March he signed a deal with Sony Music Nashville.  His Right Now album also came out during the month of January. Last night, the Shreveport, Louisiana native performed “Down By The Riverside” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! On June 8th, he will participate in Apple’s Music Legacy series and show the audience his songwriting process.
