Queen Latifah To Be Honored At VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queen

Queen Latifah will be honored at VH1’s Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queen ceremony this year. Salt-N-Pepa, MC Lyte, Missy Elliot were honored in the past but this is the first time the event will exclusively recognize women in hip-hop. The other honorees will be announced later this week. Latifah will also be an executive producer of the show through Flavor Unit because of a recent partnership with VH1 after the success of the one-hour special Dear Mama earlier this year. VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queen will air Monday, July 11th at 9PM ET.



VH1 Soul’s 4th Installment Of “Soulstage: India.Arie Presented By Infiniti” Premiering Tuesday, February 17 At 9:30PM

New York, NY, February 12, 2009- VH1 Soul continues to bring more and more soul to the stage. The latest installment in the VH1 SoulStage presented by Infiniti franchise will feature Grammy-Award winning artist India.Arie who graces the stage providing viewers with an inside look into the heart and soul of her eclectic and cerebral musical stylings.

Taped in front of a live studio audience, “SoulStage: India.Arie presented by Infiniti” will premiere on VH1 Soul on Tuesday, February 17 at 9:30 PM*. This 30-minute musical experience will feature India.Arie performing songs “Therapy,” Sade cover “Pearls” and “Better Way” for the first time from her upcoming album “Testimony Vol. 2 Love and Politics” which will be in stores February 10, 2009. Viewers will also have the opportunity to hear her some old favorites including “Brown Skin” and “There’s Hope.” The full show, plus additional exclusive performances not seen in the broadcast will be available online at VH1Soul.com beginning Tuesday, February 17.

“SoulStage” made its debut in August 2007 with R&B songstress Jill Scott, it was clear that the VH1 SoulStage franchise was about to become unstoppable. Wyclef Jean continued to stir up the soul as the featured artist of the second presentation of VH1 SoulStage. Soul crooner Raphael Saadiq and former Tribe Called Quest leader, Q-Tip soon followed. Now songstress India.Arie takes her place among the elite artists in the VH1 SoulStage franchise.

VH1 “SoulStage” is a production of VH1. An encore of the show will air Friday, February 10th and Sunday, February 22nd at 1:30PM*, 9:30PM* and 5:30AM*.
