[youtube id=”PAa4M56ctM4″] The story of Unlocking The Truth’s introduction to the music industry was made into the documentary, Breaking A Monster.  Malcolm Brickhouse, Alec Atkins and Jarad Dawson started playing heavy metal in Times Square a couple of years ago and their performances were posted to Youtube. The sight of three African-American middle-schoolers  in a rock band was unforgettable and  a series of events lead to them signing a 1.8 million dollar contract with Sony Music Entertainment in 2014. Despite all the excitement about getting a record deal, they got out of the contract in 2015. After deciding to go the independent route, they will release their debut album, Chaos, on TuneCore June 17th. Breaking A Monster will be in theaters June 24th.

Unlocking The Truth made their television debut on The View and they are interviewed by Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie Perez before performing their single, “Monster.” They also have a new memoir out now titled Unlocking The Truth with Charisse Jones.
