Lion Babe Release Video For Get Up Feat. Trindad James & Show Schedule

Lion Babe’s video for “Get Up” featuring Trinidad James is a fun and vivid place created solely under their direction.  The colors, Jillian’s big hair and the overall theme of the visual is to match the song’s message of being fierce in your individuality.  Jillian and Lucas explained in statement what the “Get Up” is about: “Get Up is a song about freeing yourself from your own thoughts and from others’ judgements. It’s a reminder that your higher self is unphased by all the noise.” The song will be on their forthcoming Rainbow Child album coming out next month.

The duo has also resumed live shows with two dates coming up at the Mercury Lounge in New York City. The August 5th show will be an album release concert and tickets are available for the live stream and the in-person option. On September 28th, they have a show at Elsewhere Brooklyn. Tickets can be purchased here.

Media Questions Of The Week

1. Isn’t it wonderful that artists like Talib Kweli, Living Colour and The Roots will pay tribute to Prince at Carnegie Hall? But wouldn’t it be even nicer if Prince would allow some of these artists to help him make some relevant new music?

2. Is Gerald Levin, the creator of “Martin” really going to sue Trinidad James for stealing the character Jerome Rome for his stage act?

3. Does Quentin Tarantino have a legitimate reason for not casting Idris Elba in “Django Unchained” because he’s British when Elba has no problems playing other African-American roles? Despite critiques of a British Black man not being to do a convincing Southern accent, could Elba’s presence have been more threatening to the general movie going audience?
