British producer Floating Points remixes Thundercat’s “Fair Chance” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Lil B. The original somber version was overt in its tribute to Thundercat’s late friend rapper Mac Miller. The new remix moves from pure sadness into a dancefloor sound that is the opposite of the album recording. Thundercat’s It Is What It Is came out earlier this year and was immediately embraced by fans and critics alike. The songwriter and musician’s love of funk and humor maintained the arc established on his 2017 album Drunk. It Is What It Is was actually dedicated to Miller. Â
