Dorien Wilson Reunites with Mo’Nique on The Mo’Nique Show

Hollywood, CA – Actor Dorien Wilson will visit with his former co-star, Mo’Nique, from television’s best-loved series “The Parkers” when he graces the couch on “The Mo’Nique Show” on Thursday, June 9, 2011. The two reigned as television’s funniest stars as Professor Oglevee and Niki Parker for six years when “The Parkers” ruled as one of UPN’s top rated shows. Their television marriage culminated the series’ run and the show moved into syndication.

Wilson will discuss his new one-man show, “Unringing The Bell” which will premiere at the 2011 National Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, NC on August 2, 2011. “Unringing The Bell” is a comedic yet introspective journey delving into Wilson’s real life experiences post “The Parkers” including the highs and lows of the entertainment business, alcoholism, depression and the passing of his mother. Wilson portrays a wide variety of characters while making use of different media, including voice-over, filmed segments, slides and original music.

A recipient of the NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy, Wilson’s career spans over 20 years including three series in network television. He first became a household staple as Eddie Charles in HBO’s “Dream On” and then the Reverend Franklin Goode on UPN’s “Goode Behavior.” Wilson also enjoyed recurring roles on “Sister Sister,” “Friends,” and “The Steve Harvey Show.” His role as Professor Oglevee on “The Parkers” however, solidified him as a mainstay in America’s television history.

The Mo’Nique Show was celebratory love fest as the two co-stars continue to share a life-long friendship and welcomed each other with open arms. “‘Unringing the Bell’ is an unveiling for me,” expressed Wilson. “Mo’Nique knows my journey and I am forever grateful to her for inviting me to share it with her audience.”

Wilson will be taking his one-man performance, “Unringing The Bell” on the road after its run at the National Black Theatre Festival. Follow Dorien Wilson on his fan page at Facebook.com.
