The effect is like looking at the last bits of a hazy psychoactive trip. They just released their Volume And Tone EP which is rooted in a blend of influences from Motown to the stylings of pop and R&B.

The Gold Setting has another ode to baby-boomer pop with “Gimme Your Love” from their forthcoming Volume And Tone EP. Their sound is part of a 21st-century landscape that celebrates the past with a happy attachment to music’s current technology.

The Gold Setting has released “Video Star” en route to the release of their Volume and Tone EP coming out April 7th. Vocalist Liza Colby wants to be the “Video Star” to her paramour over a soulful organ and guitar-heavy ’60’s pop arrangement. Volume and Tone will arrive after their introduction with previous singles “Being Without You” and “My Love.”

The Gold Setting is led by Liza Colby who leads her eponymous rock and soul band in New York City. Colby, Richard Rudolph, Adam Berg and Tom Simon are The Gold Setting and “My Love” is their second single. Inspired by Motown, California and ’90’s R&B, “My Love” is from The Gold Setting’s Volume and Tone EP coming out April 7th.
