Magestik Legend Releases All This Time (Album Stream)

Magestik Legend’s All This Time is his third solo album after spending years as the co-founder of Michigan’s The Black Opera. All This Time is a mini diary of his life as an independent artist completely invested in artistic self-actualization. There are appearances from Opio, Jamall Bufford and 14KT but he makes it clear that All This Time is about camaraderie instead of chasing co-signs from commercial stars. The singles “Mind Woes” and “DetroitMental” expressed Magestic Legend’s intention to bypass trends and champion his own voice. Stream All This Time below.

Magestik Legend Shares Detroit Mental

Magestik Legend shares his next single “DetroitMental”  from his All This Time album coming out Friday. He raps about being an independent artist from Detroit and not using big-name artists to bring attention to his music. But it is also a tribute to the city because since he relocated to California he thinks a great deal about his hometown. He says,

With all the ups, downs, memories and new beginnings, sometimes I feel like my city and I are living the same life. Detroit is my city. I call it ‘my Detroit’ because my personal experiences in this beautiful city shape my perspective of it. I’ve always shied away from making a typical ‘Detroit song,’ partly because it’s become such a soulless trend where I’m from. But since I moved to California a couple years ago, I’ve really missed my city. Though the landscape seems to change every time I leave, it will always be my Detroit. My Detroit is constantly on my mind, especially when I’m away.”

Listen to “DetroitMental” and All This Time is available for pre-order.

Magestik Legend Releases Mini Documentary Mind Woes: The Journey

[youtube id=”fr-2AvynZPE”] Magestik Legend of Michigan’s The Black Opera hip-hop group is releasing his third full-length album, All This Time in May. The mini-documentary Mind Woes: The Journey puts the camera on a day in Magestik Legend’s life watching him create and cope with worries at his home studio. This kind of vulnerability informs the album that The Black Opera describes as,

The conversation in this video is an internal dialog of self-realization, an exchange that isn’t foreign to most of us. Magestik Legend takes you through his personal bouts with self-doubt, or ‘Mind Woes.'”

All This Time comes out May 11th.
