Syd’s song about an unexpected romance is part of the movie’s story regarding a couple who fall in love after a first date goes awry during a traffic stop. Melina Matsoukas makes her directorial debut and Lena Waite wrote the screenplay. Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith star in what is being called an updated version of Bonnie & Clyde. Motown has released the soundtrack which has new music from Lauryn Hill and Blood Orange among others. Queen & Slim will be in theaters on November 27th. 

[youtube id=”WapAB7BxZ_g”]The Free Nationals and The Internet’s frontwoman Syd collaborate on the romantic “Shibuya.” The band revealed December 13th as the day their debut album will come out and they shared the tracklisting. Anderson.Paak, Daniel Caesar and Shafiq Husayn are among the artists making guest appearances on the album.

Syd’s Always Never Home is a three-song EP following up last year’s full-length Fin. The project is about eight minutes of romantic longing. Syd will start her solo tour at Irving Plaza in NYC on October 9th.
