Nas-Live At The BBQ Featuring Large Professor SXSW 2016

Jimi: All Is By My Side To Screen At SXSW

John Ridley’s Jimi: All Is By My Side will screen for a second time at SXSW this year. The film focuses on Jimi Hendrix’s life between the years of 1966 and 1967. As usual the Hendrix estate denied usage of Hendrix’s music so Ridley used blues artists that inspired Hendrix and ’60’s rock. The film debuted at the Toronto Film Festival last Fall and received good reviews.




Kendrick Lamar Headlining Mass Appeal Launch Party At SXSW

Kendrick Lamar is headlining Mass Appeal’s launch of their 52nd magazine at the Austin Music Hall in Texas during SXSW.He will be joined by Pusha T, Bun B, Danny Brown, A$AP Ferg, Joey Bada$$, Roc Marciano, Alexander Spit at the event on March 15th. Hosted by BBC Ice Cream, the launch event will feature a selection of exclusive content from Mass Appeal’s archives and a screening of Jason Goldwatch’s most recent Time Pieces, intimate mini-documentaries celebrating cultural creators.
