Summer Walker & Dos Dias Release Clear 2 EP

Summer Walker Clear 2 EP Cover

Summer Walker and Dos Dias dropped the Clear 2: Soft Life EP four years after Clear. Since then Walker became a mother of three kids, had several public relationships, released two albums and dealt with her mental health. Those life changes are evident in Clear 2 by way of her honest reflections that can be crass and elevated at the same time. Walker fearlessly confronts the topics of relationships and self-wellness with Dias’ emotive guitars, squiggly synthesizers and jazzy drums. Childish Gambino and J. Cole have features offering up humor, praise and a different perspective from Walker’s. Clear 2 means the ultimate clarity and Walker shares the process to that state of mind with vulnerability and staunch conviction. The RnB queen closes the EP with spoken word, spiritual insight and laughter.

Dos Dias & Summer Walker Are Releasing The Clear 2 EP

Engineer and producer David “Dos Dias” Bishop and R&B chanteuse Summer Walker are releasing the second installment of their Clear EP series on Friday, May 19th. Bishop just earned a Grammy for his work on Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morales & The Big Steppers. The Clear 2: Soft Life EP comes four years after their initial collaboration of jolting R&B love hymns. Bishop made a statement about the new EP and working with Walker to Revolt:

“We’re all human; we all live lives. We all go through heartbreak. It’s always interesting to walk on those journeys with the artists and see them just morph into somebody new. For me, it’s been therapy because sometimes the artist is just in a different phase of life that I’m not in, so I’m able to glance from a different lens and see what’s up next for myself.”

Walker posted the tracklisting in a video with a comedy skit.

Watch: Summer Walker Body Official Video

Summer Walker’s video for “Body” arrives more than a year after the song debuted on her 2019 album Over It. A very pregnant Walker is seen hanging out at the beach and a nearby home within a scenario that is black and white most of the time. Director Lacey Dukes chose Calabasas and Malibu, California to film the peaceful-looking clip. The video is a serene contrast to Walker’s frequent rants about producer London on da Track who is her child’s father. The picturesque moments are great to look at right especially with all the political and social clashing in the country at this time.
