Jay-Z recently had a meeting with Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson and her husband Maurice Phillips to offer them $40 million for the music in Prince’s vault. Nelson could not make the decision to sell the music because she has to have agreement from Prince’s other siblings and the managers of the trust handling his estate. Prince made a deal with Jay-Z’s Tidal to exclusively stream his music before he died. Warner Brothers announced the release of a new greatest hits collection called Prince4Ever that will have the never heard “Moonbeam Levels” and a remastered edition of Purple Rain in 2017.

Prince’s Paisley Park complex now has permanent museum status thanks to the unanimous vote by the Chanhassen City Council Monday night. Paisley Park was open for tours for most of the month of October then had to be closed until the council could make their decision. It was Prince’s desire to turn his home into a museum and since his passing in April it became the most important task outside of handling his musical vault. Paisley Park will be open every week Thursday through Sunday for tours.

Prince’s vault of unreleased music is being shopped to the major labels for upwards of $35 million according to Billboard. The vault is Prince’s legendary archive of music that was never released during his lifetime. The Revolution has already revealed the existence of an album they recorded in the ’80’s that was shelved. Estate advisors L. Londell McMillan and Charles Koppelman are negotiating the sale of the music that has intrigued Prince fans for years because of its unknown contents. Warner Brothers is planning to release a deluxe version of Purple Rain and a new greatest hits collection in the near future. Prince’s death in April without a will left a lot of organizational work for his estate managers and they are currently waiting for the Minneapolis City Council to give them a permit so that tours of Paisley Park can resume.
