It’s so nice to see a man who just released a song called “Just The Tip” pay tribute to this atrocity of justice surrounding the Trayvon Martin case. All of the proceeds from the sale of “We Are Trayvon” goes to the Martin family.

Plies just did this tribute to Trayvon Martin and “We Are Trayvon” will soon be on sale at iTunes with all proceeds going to the Martin family. Trayvon Martin was fatally shot February 26th in a gated Florida community by volunteer Neighborhood Watch person George Zimmerman. Martin was unarmed and aggressively pursued by Zimmerman for “looking suspicious” and then shot after the police told him not to pursue Martin. Zimmerman is a white Latino with a prior history of resisting arrest. He tried to claim the shooting was in self-defense but he deliberately went against the police orders to leave Martin to them. No arrests have been made because of Florida’s stand-your-ground law that is designed to protect innocent people by allowing to meet force with force, being misapplied in the case.The petition to have Zimmerman prosecuted has reached over a million signatures and there has been a lot of support for the Martin family around the country including a Million Hoodie March that took place in Manhattan. The New Black Panther Party has put out a 10,000 bounty for the capture of George Zimmerman.

Plies’ goon iconography is annoying but his gift of paying for a fan’s college education is noble. And of course we can see as usual how much the average hip-hop artist dumbs himself down to make money. The fact that Plies is articulate has stunned many people.
