Omar recently came to the United States to promote his ninth album, Brighter The Days, and he performed a Tiny Desk show. The King of UK Soul plucked four songs from his four-decade career, starting with “Can We Go Out” from his current album. The title track from The Man, “Little Boy,” “This Is Not A Love Song,” and the first career landmark single, “There’s Nothing Like This,” finished the setlist. Omar promises to uplift your soul with his current album that has guest appearances from Raheem DeVaughn, Eric Roberson, his brother Scratch Professor, Don-E, Ledisi, Jeru The Damaja, Honey Larochelle, Paul Weller, and more. The many challenges in the world now make an album titled Brighter The Days a necessity for getting through the times. The album is available in all formats.




Omar & Honey Larochelle Do Research

Omar and Honey Larochelle are a combined musical force on “Research.” The video is a fun fest with them hanging out on New York City rooftops and footage from Omar’s performance at Natasha Diggs’ Soul In The Horn series. “Research” is on Omar’s forthcoming Brighter The Days album. Omar’s singular sound is still intact with all of its soulful funkiness and bits of jazz. The UK neo-soul king is back, spreading his infectious feel-good vibes for 2025. Omar Is Back With Can We Go Out? New Album Coming

Omar has returned with “Can We Go Out” and the announcement of his ninth album, Brighter The Days. The UK soul legend delivers with his customary warm vocal layers within a mix of clock chimes, spiffy horns, light snares, and a dulcet-toned guitar. India.Arie, Raheem DeVaughn, Eric Roberson, Jeru The Damaja, Ledisi, Don E, Paul Weller, and his brother, the Scratch Professor, have guest appearances on Brighter The Days. It was seven years ago when Omar released the deluxe version of Love In Beats, which was his last album of new songs. Fans made it through the pandemic with the release of The Anthology. “Lovey Dovey” feat. DeVaughn and Roberson was the first single to emerge from BTD. Omar is making sure that fans have a good summer because Brighter The Days comes out on June 6th. 




Throwback: Omar: There’s Nothing Like This

“There’s Nothing Like This” is Omar’s 1991 debut single and title track from his 1990 album. The single was originally released on his father’s Kongo Dance label in 1990. It was his father’s record collection where he heard the Ohio Players’ “Heaven Must Be Like This” and wrote the single that would sell 35,000 copies despite him being an unknown singer. “There’s Nothing Like This” got the attention of Norman Jay from Talkin’ Loud Records, who signed Omar to his first record deal. The British singer   previously released “Mr. Postman,” “Get It Out Your System,” “I Don’t Mind The Waiting,” and “You and Me,” but “There’s Nothing Like This” was the single that gave him notice with music fans. The song was re-released in 1991 with the album and his official journey as the UK King of Neo Soul had begun. In 34 years of recording and eight albums, “There’s Nothing Like This” is still his most popular song. Maxi Priest and Beverley Knight have covered the single for their albums, 2 The Max and Soul UKIn 2022, Omar + QCBA Live At Last was released. The recording of Omar’s onstage collaboration with the group QCBA is his first live album.
