NEZ’s Midnight Music EP Is Out Now

NEZ’s Midnight Music EP came out today and it stays true to the blueprint of house music with new energy. The Chicago-based producer already released the video for “To The Money” feat. Flo Milli and 8AE two weeks ago. The EP also has a guest appearance from dance music veteran Felix Da Housecat. NEZ says,

“Midnight Music is a complete mood. It’s what I want to hear when I’m outside. It’s feel-good music and explores different sounds within the scope of dance music. It’s sexy, it’s dark, it’s melodic and upbeat all at the same time.”

NEZ’s usage of hip-hop working with rappers like Flo Milli and ScHoolboy Q hearkens back to the hip-house sound of the early ’90s that Queen Latifah was a part of with “Come Into My House.” Midnight Music belongs in the club, the street and any space where models stalk the catwalk.

NEZ Goes Straight To The Money With Flo Milli & 8AE

NEZ leads his dance music revolution with the support of Flo Milli and 8AE on his new single “To The Money.” The hip-hop and house hybrid reimagines hip-house from the ’90s and its last incarnations on Diddy’s Last Train To Paris and Azealia Banks’s “The Big Big Beat.” The Chicago native brings back the heat of his city’s legendary house music history with the added fire of two women emcees. He says,

“Dance music is Black music. My goal is to bring that conversation back to the forefront. Coming from Chicago I’m very much inspired by the pioneers of house and techno. This track is very exciting for me because I had the opportunity to experiment with a new sound and bring on artists that I believe in – Flo Milli and 8ae.”

NEZ’s “To The Money” is the perfect walk between two genres that have also gotten along together in the past.

Nez Goes To Work With DUCKWRTH & Saint Bodhi

DUCKWRTH Nez & Saint Bodhi by Bobby Cabbagestalk

NEZ is back with a new dance track called “Work” with DUCKWRTH and Saint Bodhi. The Indiana producer unearths the essence of classic house with elements of hip-hop. The result is an infectious tune that sounds heavily influenced by Chicago legend Green Velvet and Pharrell. His affinity for club sounds from the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s was made known on his “Wild Youngster” single with ScHoolboy Q that came out earlier this year. He says, “Work” is a new sound that pays homage to the pioneers of House and techno.”  Nez is stepping out from his role as one-half of the production duo Nez & Rio which has produced music for Wale, Chance The Rapper, A$AP Rocky and more. “Work” is guaranteed to break up the boredom associated with the shut-in summer of COVID-19.
