N’Dambi, T.K. Kirkland, Christian Keyes and Brotha Bill to Highlight “Summer Solstice Denim & White” Affair

Los Angeles – Event promoter Kevin Rouse has been staging spectacular events around Los Angeles for the past 20 years now. Jazz filled nights, R&B performances, comedy, dancing and celebrities are the ingredients he mixes to keep his audience coming back for more. When he and his business partner, Pernell Clark, coordinated an affair at the exclusive Disney Concert Hall last Labor Day, many said it couldn’t be done. The experience, a first for the Disney Concert Hall, was the “All Black Affair 2010” and proceeds benefitted the non-profit organization Brother II Brother. With almost 2000 attendees enjoying a night like never before however, Rouse sealed the deal, firmly establishing himself as Los Angeles’ premier party thrower!

In addition, it is a great opportunity for professionals to get dressed up and enjoy a most memorable evening on the town. This is truly a culmination of all of our experience and talent as we continue to imprint Los Angeles with affairs that cater to grown and sexy professionals of Los Angeles and beyond. Joi, N’dambi and Tamar-kali Pay Tribute To Betty Davis

Joi, N’dambi and Tamar-kali paid tribute to Betty Davis last night at The Schomberg in New York City. Exactly one year ago Tamar-kali participated in another homage to Davis in Detroit at the Charles Wright Museum. Davis was the wife of Miles Davis for one year but she highly influenced his musical transition into fusion by exposing him to the music of James Brown, Sly Stone and Jimi Hendrix. She spruced up his attire and gave Bitches Brew its name. The former Mrs. Davis recorded four raunchy rock albums in the ’70’s that her ex-husband described as being ahead of the time and responsible for paving the way for people like Madonna and Prince. But the singer’s career wasn’t able to transcend America’s ideas about the image of the female performer. These days Davis lives as a recluse Pennsylvania.
