Charles Wright Talks Music And Life

Charles Wright is the founder of The Watts 103 Street Rhythm Band. The band is famous for their 1970 “Express Yourself” recording, sampled and covered by N.W.A. The version from the Compton rap group was their only radio-friendly single. Wright mostly talks about his life growing up in the South and music. He is the author of Up: From Where We’ve Come and  Express Yourself My Life Journey Through Funk Music.  Mr. Wright is still recording music, and these days he has immersed himself in preserving blues music. He informs fans of his current work via his official website and social media.

All of the movement keeps eyeballs stuck to the changing scenes directed by James Larese. The West Coast legend is flying off of the long-awaited release of Everythangs Corrupt. 




Ice Cube Releases Everythangs Corrupt

Ice Cube’s long-awaited Everythangs Corrupt is out and it is full of fire and commentary on America’s love of money. The 16-song album has one feature from Too Short and it is the first full-length effort since I Am The West that came out in 2010. Everythangs Corrupt was originally scheduled for a 2015 release date. Ice Cube starting sharing music from the album with the title track in 2012. The timing of the release today is on time with all the political tensions in the country which is reflected in the second single “Arrest The President.”Â
