Here is a short clip of Don Cheadle’s Miles Ahead about the end of Miles Davis’s 5 years of silence in 1979. The film will show on the closing night of the New York Film Festival October 11th. Sony Pictures Classic will distribute the movie but there is no release date yet.

Don Cheadle just unveiled his first look as Miles Davis for the upcoming crowd-funded biopic he’s doing about the musician’s life. Cheadle shared the photo exclusively with Entertainment Weekly and gave an interview about the project. This is Miles in the late ’60’s as he was entering into his jazz rock fusion phase with the help of his much younger wife Betty Mabry. Cheadle explains that the film is not a traditional biopic but instead a reworking of two time periods in Davis’s life. They start shooting the film in Cincinnati this week.




Don Cheadle Has An Indiegogo Campaign For Miles Davis Film

Don Cheadle has launched an Indiegogo campaign for his Miles Davis biopic, Miles Ahead. The goal is to raise $325,000 by July 10 to make the film he has been working on since 2007. The Miles Davis estate supports his efforts to make the film that he intends to shoot this summer. Cheadle will play Davis in the project that focuses on a few days in his life after he emerged from a career hiatus.
