Robert Glasper’s album of Miles Davis covers performed by various artists was just released. Everything’s Beautiful has guest appearances from Erykah Badu, Illa J, Phonte and more. The album has come out during the current run of Don Cheadle’s film portrayal of Davis in Miles Ahead. Glasper also scored the soundtrack for Miles Ahead.

[youtube id=”tBLCRYCYBuo”] Here is another trailer from the upcoming Miles Ahead film starring Don Cheadle as Miles Davis. In this scene, Davis meets future wife Frances Taylor, played by Emayatzy Corinealdi for the first time. Cheadle also directs the feature which will be distributed by Sony and in the theaters April 1st.

Watch Don Cheadle as Miles Davis in this trailer for Miles Ahead exclusively posted by Entertainment Weekly earlier today. The film focuses on Davis’s brief retirement period in the late ’70’s and premiered last year at The New York Film Festival. Cheadle directs and stars in the feature which will be scored by Herbie Hancock, who was a member of Davis’s second famous quintet, and Robert Glasper.  You can read Cheadle’s interview at the Entertainment Weekly site and Miles Ahead will be in theaters April 1st.
