Mar Revisits Long For You In New Video

[youtube id=”toTLCjmTR3g”]Mar goes back to his heavily-streamed single “Long For You” to make a live video version of the song. The Amsterdam-based singer said that after the release of his 2017 EP, Things Will Be, he wanted to recreate the song. He explained the sparse aesthetic of the video featuring him in front of a microphone in a statement:

“I feel most at home when surrounded by musical instruments. I use them to communicate with people and respond to my environment. After recording the live versions of Spaceship, “Storm” and “Love Outro” from my latest EP ‘Things Will Be’, I felt I wanted to recreate more of my stories in a live setting. ‘Long For You’ reached over 2 million plays on Spotify and to celebrate this I chose to revisit the song.”

Watch Mar go from one instrument to the next as he re-introduces “Long For You.”

Watch Mar Perform Storm & Love Outro For Red Bull’s Music Uncut

[youtube id=”45UhNTdwmUQ”] Mar recently performed “Storm” and “Love Outro” for Red Bull Music’s Uncut series. The songs are from his Things Will Be EP and he explains how his father’s passing is what inspired “Storm,”

“I created ‘Storm’ right after I lost my father. He was a great person and a dear friend of mine. He taught me to play, understand and communicate through music. ‘Storm’ is the sound of my darkest thoughts. The two songs are their opposites, yet they make each other stronger.”

Mar Travels To The Unknown In Video For Place

[youtube id=”lrEtjMTG6CE”] Mar’s self-directed visual for “Place” finds him and a partner exploring the unknown in a dark place full of modern dancers. Mar’s appearance takes on the stereotyped look of Jesus as he and his partner find spiritual bliss. “Place” will be on his upcoming Things Will Be EP.

Mar Introduces Next Project With Place Single

Amsterdam native Mar connected with producer Aston Rudi last year for his new EP Things Will Be. “Place” is the first sound leaked from the upcoming EP and it is a dreamy soundscape based on Rudi’s drawn-out keys and sparse percussion. The overall feeling is one of escaping from confinement into open air.
