Kid Koala and Trixie Whitley share another collaboration from Koala’s Music To Draw To Io: with the single “Hera’s Song.” The sparse dystopian track features Whitley’s forlorn vocals, a controlled cacophony and then silence. According to Koala, the ambient sounds of the new album are intended to give the listener room to hear their own ideas. There is also a video for “Lost At Sea” that also pushes the idea of self-reflection for the listener. Music To Draw To: Io officially comes out January 25th.

Kid Koala Introduces All For You Feat. Trixie Whitley Visuals

[youtube id=”BPjO0zd27nU”]Kid Koala and Trixie Whitley have worked together on the next edition to Koala’s Music To Draw To series. The first time Koala made ethereal pop for the drawing music concept he used Emiliana Torrini. Koala chose Whitley for this one because of her emotional range. Today he introduces the celestial visual component to “All Of You.” Music To Draw To: Io will be released on January 25th. The Scratch DJ and Producer is having his second full-length album this year because he debuted the soundtrack to the Floor Kids video game earlier this year.

Kid Koala Shares Floor Kids Megamix

Kid Koala shares an 18-minute megamix of music from his Floor Kids Original Video Game Soundtrack. The hip-hop DJ and producer created the mix after he received test pressings of the soundtrack on vinyl, he says,

“This is a live mix that will give you a taste of some of the grooves and battle tracks on the record. I labeled the 12 o’clock point on each record with some stickers and just hit record, needle dropping, quick cueing, and back spinning loops as you would do when deejaying at a break battle. There are also a few spoken word elements from the games story cutscenes scratched in there, which reveal some of the in-game philosophy that will help you become a better player/dancer/human!”

The Floor Kids album will be released on April 27th and Kid Koala’s Vinyl Vaudeville: Floor Kids Edition tour begins April 26th in Canada.
