Junglepussy: JP4 Album Stream

Junglepussy is back with JP4 which is available digitally and will see the physical release on vinyl in March. The Brooklyn rapper is still all about self-love, relationship demands and mocking insecure people. Gangsta Boo and Ian Isiah make guest appearances and there is production from Dave Sitek and Nick Hook. She says the album’s title is about the symbolism of the number four as the sign of building a foundation. This album also reflects a new level of comfort in her artistry according to her statement:

“From the genesis of Junglepussy, I struggled with my sound, because what I was doing at the time, I knew it wasn’t really, really, really what I wanted to do. But I just didn’t know how to get there. JP4 really sounds like and feels like I got there.”

JP4 is available on the usual platforms.

[youtube id=”dAgGUbp3JiA”]Junglepussy holds court in a rooftop garden late at night in her video for “Arugula.” She’s at a party and her tentacle-like braids and light-colored eyes recall Grace Jones’s Strangé character from Boomerang. The song about a stormy relationship is from her 2018 album JP3. The video comes out at the same time of Junglepussy’s interview with Erykah Badu for Heroine magazine.Â
