Joey Bada$$ revises his 2000 album with “Let It Breathe” which was a Youtube exclusive previously. The rapper and actor has plans to release new music in a series this fall. He explored the concept of time with 2000 as it was released 10 years after his 1999 mixtape. Diddy, JID, Larry June, Westside Gunn and Capella Grey have guest appearances on 2000. The Brooklyn native is currently being seen on the Starz network playing the role of Unique in Raising Kanan.




Joey Bada$$ Shares New Single Where I Belong From Forthcoming Album

Joey Bada$$ shares “Where I Belong” from his upcoming album 2000. It was 10 years ago when his 1999 mixtape was released. The Brooklyn rapper was most recently seen playing the villain Unique on the Starz show Power Book III: Raising Kanaan from the heavily watched Power franchise. Earlier this year he revealed his new musical plans with the single “Head High.” His third album officially comes out on July 22nd. He has already kicked off his 1999 2000 summer tour of North America which lands in Philadelphia tomorrow night.  

 




Joey Bada$$ Shares The Light Pack

[youtube id=”Mito0NH56hE”] Joey Bada$$ comes back after a three-year hiatus with The Light Pack. The Brooklyn rapper is back in his creative space with three new songs; “The Light,” “No Explanation” and “Shine” which samples Roy Ayers’ “Everybody Loves The Sunshine.” He worked with directors Kerby Jean-Raymond and Levi Turner on the video for “The Light.” Jean-Raymond’s heritage with the voodoo religion are explored and Bada$$ takes part in a ceremony that he connects to rebirth and a deeper connection with his ancestors. The clip ends with him entering a police station in protest. His last album, AMERIKKKAN BADASS from 2017, is being looked at again because of the social unrest messages that are currently in line with Black Lives Matters.




Joey Bada$$ & Pro Era Announce Fourth Annual Steez Day Festival

Pro Era announces the fourth annual STEEZ Day Festival to honor their late comrade Capital STEEZ. Steez founded the Beast Coast movement and was an originator of Pro Era. The festival is returning to the site of the first STEEZ Day, Central Park. The lineup includes the Pro Era family, Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers, STRO and more to be announced. Tickets for STEEZ Day will go on sale Friday at noon ET.Â
