Janelle Monáe Delivers Visual For Water Slide

Janelle Monáe continues her body-positive theme in the video for “Water Slide.” She is joined by a posse of semi-naked people at a pool party. The singer and actress is serious about claiming The Age Of Pleasure and showing people having a good time. The video inspires envy in anyone deprived of sunshine but her lightheartedness and diversity of body shapes are enough to coax wallflowers out of their shells. Actresses Angelica Ross and Jillian Mercado have guest appearances along with rapper JELEEL. Monáe’s recent frequent toplessness has confused some fans but she has unapologetically buckled down on her need to freely bare her nipples. She’s taking The Age Of Pleasure on tour and tickets are available now for the jaunt that begins at the end of August in Seattle.
