J.I.D. does a tribute to Atlanta’s skate culture in his video for “Sk8” featuring Ciara and Earthgang. Maya Table directed the video that was filmed around the city and at the Golden Glide and Cascade rinks. A plethora of Atlanta legends and friends make appearances including Jermaine Dupri, Kilo Ali, Jasper, KP the Great, Nuface, Queen Flip, Jace, Key!, BunnaB, Bijan Robinson, Baby Kia, Swavay, and Ben Reilly. “Sk8” is on J.I.D.’s fourth critically acclaimed album, God Does Like Ugly. J.I.D.’s Goes Does Like World Tour starts next Wednesday and he will play some of the biggest venues of his career. Tickets are on sale. 

John Legend is excited to share his latest song “Dope” as he gets ready for the release of his new album. “Dope” is all about the fascination of new love and rapper J.I.D. adds his verses to the bright energy of celebrating a love quest. Legend previously shared “Dope” with some of his fans including the iHeart Awards audience and the crowd who attended the first leg of his Love In Las Vegas residency. He says, 

“I’m so thrilled to be releasing new music. The past year or so has been so exciting for me creatively.  I have been writing and collaborating with some of the most talented people in music, and we have some great new material to share with the world. ‘Dope’ is one of my favorites.  I love the energy of the song.  I loved collaborating with my gifted co-writers and producers, and J.I.D is one of my favorite emerging artists in hip-hop.  I hope the song can be a part of people’s soundtrack for this summer.”

Legend’s forthcoming album will be his first with label partner EMI. He will return to his Las Vegas on August 5th to the 20th and then from October 14th to the 29th. Tickets are available for purchase now. 

Watch J.I.D. with Baby Tate and 21 Savage in his video for “Surround Sound.” He unleashes fire with endless verses and serious breath control as he holds the camera captive with a beaming aura. He has cars, his crew and women but he’s ultimately an army of one in the last seconds of the clip. The video just turned up the excitement for his third studio album The Forever Story. And for those who watch the visual and want more J.I.D. he’s featured on Token’s “Boom.”    TFS is due sometime this year.

This past June they delivered “Time” which has the first posthumous words heard from Mac Miller and last year they released “Beauty & Essex” featuring Daniel Caesar and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. “On Sight” featuring rapper J.I.D., R&B singer Kadhja Bonet and electronic duo MIKNNA is a piece of infectious psychedelic soul about feeling love after the first look at someone. The band announced last year they were preparing their debut album but a release date has not been revealed.
