Murphy revived the show in the ’80s as a young comedian before he left to become a movie star. It’s been 35 years since he was the host and this appearance is part of a full circle for his career. The promo shows Murphy walking through the building wearing the same kind of outfit he wore when he first appeared on the show. Lizzo, who is this week’s musical guest, can be heard in the background as her song “Cuz I Love You” plays.
