The Belleville Three (Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins, Derrick May) Reunite For Movement In Detroit 2017

Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins and Derrick May also known as The Belleville Three will reunite for Movement in Detroit 2017. The three Detroit techno pioneers started making music when they attended Belleville High School.  Their electronic sound was championed by legendary Detroit DJ The Electrifying Mojo and was heard in clubs like The Music Institute. Detroit techno spread and became internationally recognized and copied by countless artists.

The three of them have not performed together since 2010 at the Awakenings Festival in the Netherlands. Saunderson recently rebooted his E-Dancer moniker and released new music. May presented his music with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra at Chene Park in 2015. And Atkins had an after party for Kraftwerk two years ago when they made a rare Detroit appearance.

Detroit’s Movement Electronic Music Festival will take place May 27-29 2017 and tickets are on sale now.

Derrick May & The Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra Perform Strings Of Life

[youtube id=”OKjVBAiWHiQ”]

Back in August Derrick May and the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra worked together to play his music in an orchestral/arena setting. The intensity of the band works well with the climactic nature of “Strings Of Life” as evidenced by the audience. The clip is too short and hopefully they will post the whole event soon. May indicated on his Facebook page that they are looking to play together again in 2015.
