MxNxSTxR (Ty Dolla $ign & DESTRUCTO) Release What You Need Feat. Thundercat & Channel Tres

MxNxSTxR is a side project from Ty Dolla $ign and EDM music maker DESTRUCTO. The duo just dropped “What You Need,” featuring Thundercat and Channel Tres. The party tune adds a late-night vibe to the atmosphere and is a follow-up to “All Of Me,” which was released in 2022. The concept for MxNxSTxr launched during the pandemic in 2020 and the result was “All Of Me,” which was noticed with half a million streams from their collective fanbase. ‘What You Need” taps Thundercat’s falsetto for a soulful infusion next to Channel Tres’ verse. So far it looks like they are having fun and there is no plan for a full-length project but until then, “What You Need” will keep them in good with the dance music crowd.

Channel Tres Uncloaks Video For Cactus Water & Has New Release Date For Debut Album

Watch the video for Channel Tres’ “Cactus Water.” The single is on the producer’s Head Rush debut album and has a new release date of June 28th. Thundercat, Toro y Moi, Ravyn Lenae, Estelle, Ty Dollar $ign, Teezo Touchdown,  and Watr have guest appearances on the Compton DJ’s new musical outing. “Cactus Water” is a catchy R&B romp with many Prince-isms in its makeup right down to the tinny-sounding keys, rhythm guitar, and steamy lyrics. Channel Tres and his crew perform some of the choreography from his tour in the video. He explained his decision to release an album after releasing six EPs and numerous singles since 2018 including “Topdown,” “Controller” and the Honey Dijon collaboration “Show Me Some Love.”  “There were things about my story that I didn’t know how to express, musically or lyrically,” he says. But after a sometimes trying period of growth, he’s finally ready to articulate this chapter of his life: “I would say my artistry has grown to a place where I’m comfortable sharing this much at one time.” Head Rush comes on June 28th on RCA Records.

Kaytranada Shares New Music With Rochelle Jordan & Channel Tres

Kaytranada ends the year with new music with Rochelle Jordan and Channel Tres. “Lover/Friend” with Jordan is a slice of smoky R&B with a bounce. “Stuntin” features Channel Tres’ spoken words and Kaytranada’s fingers programming a twirl-worthy beat that’s especially rugged on the bottom. The double single is ideal for increasing the appetite for his 2024 full-length album. The producer had a good year with his Aminé assisted KAYTRAMINE project and subsequent tour. “Lover/Friend” and “Stuntin” are the perfect gifts for Kaytranada’s fans.
