Ten City Declare Love Is Love On New Album
Ten City returns two years after their Grammy-nominated Judgement with Love Is Love. Marshall Jefferson and Byron Stingily have once again completed the extraordinary mission of making relevant music decades after establishing their legend. Love Is Love has all the juice of their pioneering sound with one featured spot occupied by UK producers Wh0 on “I Love Me.” Stingily’s emotions come through in every song whether he is asserting the autonomy that comes with self-love or the disappointment of losing love when he sings about being left for “A Girl Named Phil.” He explained their preoccupation with love in a press release,
“2023 is the year of Loving Self and Self Affirmation! These themes are prominent throughout the album. Just check out the singles such as the title track and its remix by fellow Chicago house artists DRAMA, and “I Love Me,” a collaboration with bubbling UK producers Wh0.
Jefferson and Stingily have come full circle in their artistry following their earlier days of releasing classics like “Move Your Body” and “Devotion” with new music to captivate the current generation of dancers and reaffirm their longtime fans. Ten City and Chicago by default still have something to say about house music. Love Is Love is available from Beatport.
