The Pace Report: Shalamar Reloaded

Brian Pace spoke with Jody Watley and her Shalamar Reloaded group last month to discuss their recent tour, future projects and the history of the classic Shalamar. Watley and new members Nate Allen Smith and Rosero McCoy were interviewed by Pace backstage at their soundcheck for the Lincoln Park Midsummer Night Swing Series at Damrosch Park in New York City. Their interview is complimented with footage from their show which is a combination of Shalamar’s music and Jody Watley’s solo catalog. The new group has the moves Shalamar was known for and Watley is just as fashionable and in tune as she was in the ’80’s and ’90’s.
