Bruno Mars Announces Album With Anderson.Paak & Special Guest Bootsy Collins

 

Bruno Mars and anderson.paak are collaborating on an album they call An Evening With Silk Sonic. Their first song as Silk Sonic will come out on March 5th. Mars’ most recent album was his 2016 24K Magic. Paak’s Ventura came out in 2019 and he just gave a Grubhub-sponsored concert now archived on YouTube. Paak and Mars toured together in 2017 and that year they worked with Disclosure on Nile Rodgers on new music. There is no release date for the full Silk Sonic album yet. 




Omar Apollo Remixes Stayback With Bootsy Collins

Omar Apollo’s “Stayback” has a remix with the legendary Bootsy Collins. The woozy funk tune became a dream come true for Apollo on the remix because Collins is one of his influences. The song will be on his upcoming album that follows his 2018 debut EP Stereo. The video for “Stayback” premiered in August and the singer-songwriter gave a quarantine concert in Death Valley this past spring. 




Five Alarm Funk Links With Bootsy Collins On We Play The Funk

[youtube id=”hSxAcm0pdGg”]Five Alarm Funk made a dream come true by having Bootsy Collins on the single “We Play The Funk” and appearing in the video. The Canadian funk band has been grinding away for 15 years and “We Play The Funk” is from the Boots & Wheels EP. Tayo Branston who is the drummer and vocalist for the band says, 

“Bootsy’s the captain of funk, so for us to hop on board with him, man, it’s such a pleasure and such an honor and an inspiration”

Collins is also a fan of Five Alarm Funk and he took their song “Capital City” and remade it in his own design. The band’s latest album, Sweat, from 2017 garnered them a Juno nomination. The recognition has boosted their tour schedule and they will perform at a variety of festivals and venues in Canada and the United States.

She is promised by her love interest that he is ready for a serious romance. Collins plays the bass and the woman sings squarely into the camera. The video is a perfect companion to all the Valentines’ Day sentiments happening on Wednesday. “Worth My While” is from Collins’ World Wide Funk album that is out now.
