She admitted how much she always wanted an award from BET in her acceptance speech and she thanked her daughter among others for their support and described Biggie Smalls as her angel. Kim’s album 9 comes out this Friday.

Common, Vince Staples and Jay Electronica performed “Kingdom” at the BET Hip-Hop Awards with a full choir and ended the song by bringing Mike Brown’s parents to the stage. They all stood together onstage with their hands up to remind everyone of the way several eyewitnesses recanted seeing Brown surrender with his hands up before being fatally shot by officer Darren Wilson.
