Night Catches Us is the debut film from director Tanya Hamilton. It’s about Anthony Mackie’s return to his old neighborhood in Philadelphia and the conflict that arises between him and the Black Power organization he used to be a member of in the ’70’s. The Roots did the score and this is the second time Mackie and Kerry Washington have worked so closely together, the first time being the dismal She Hate Me.
