Andre Cymone Sings About The Limitations Of Money
Andre Cymone has new music with the single “Money” which is a critical look at money’s inability to buy happiness. Cymone left music as a solo artist for 29 years after releasing A.C. in 1985. The bass player/songwriter was Prince’s childhood friend and played in his band up until the 1999 era. He spent the ’80’s and ’90’s writing for other artists including his ex-wife Jody Watley. In 2014, he released The Stone and reintroduced himself with a guitar-heavy sound. “Money” is the first single from 1969, which will be officially released on April 7th just weeks away from Prince’s passing on April 21st last year. 1969 is political and nostalgic without getting stuck in the past because it celebrates old school technology like an FM radio with a 2017 perspective about life.
