Alicia Myers first made contact with the public as a featured vocalist with Detroit’s One Way on the song, “You Can Do It.” After a quick stint with One Way Myers went solo and her debut album, Alicia was released by MCA in 1981. “I Want To Thank You” was written by Kevin McCord who was a member of One Way and it became popular because of overwhelming support from DJs like Larry Levan. “If You Play Your Cards Right” was the other song most associated with Alicia by her most casual fans. Myers recorded 4 albums for MCA and had her second biggest hit with “You Get The Best From Me (Say Say Say).” Myers left the recording industry for 27 years and returned in 2011 with the independently released Peace Of Mind.
