Tru Thoughts just released the second installment of their Covers compilation and it’s a collection of beloved tunes reignited by a stellar group of independent soul/jazz artists. La Grima’s cover of Nirvana’s “Lithium” featuring Jimetta Rose flips grunge into hypnotic dub. And Alice Russell’s version of The Temptations’ “I’ll Keep My Light In My Window” loses it’s ’80’s touch of synthesizers and ironically sounds more like ’60’s Motown.
