Steve Lacy took the spotlight for his guitar solo while the rest of the band played under dimmer light. The new album Hive Mind comes out July 20th. 




Watch: Rakim Perform King’s Paradise For Season 2 Of Luke Cage

[youtube id=”EcKWZP3htY0″]Luke Cage’s second season premiered on Netflix today. In this clip, Rakim performs “King’s Paradise’ for the crowd at the Harlem Paradise club. Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad produced the song that is one of the season’s surprises. Rakim was also included in the will.i.am and Marvel comic book Masters Of The Sun last year. 




Christine And The Queens Perform Girlfriend On The Tonight Show With Dâm-Funk

[youtube id=”WHg0vb1dgp8″]Christine and the Queens were joined by Dâm-Funk on The Tonight Show for a performance of “Girlfriend” with dancers. The French singer is prepping her sophomore album that has no title or release date yet. Frontwoman Héloïse Letissier led the dancers around the stage and Dâm-Funk briefly shared the stage with them before walking back to the band area to finish playing with The Roots. Christine and the Queens will be on tour in the fall. 




Luke Cage: Season 2 Trailer 2

[youtube id=”O8cI8SHLaLQ”]The second trailer for season 2 of Luke Cage stars Alfre Woodard in her role as Mariah Dillard the Queen Of Harlem. Woodard’s character has to come face to face with the new villain Bushmaster in her battle to have control of Harlem. Dillard’s daughter Tilda appears and she is not happy with her mother’s work. Misty Knight returns with a robotic arm and Luke Cage has his biggest challenge yet fighting Bushmaster. The whole trailer happens with The Fugees’ “Ready Or Not” playing in the background. Season 2 of Luke Cage premieres June 22nd on Netflix.Â
