Rico Nasty & Boys Noize Announce EP With Arintintin Single

Rico Nasty and Boys Noize are dropping their first EP together later this month. “Arintintin” is a hyper-techno single from the dance-oriented project titled HARDCORE DR3AMZ. The multi-genre Nasty and DJ/Producer Boys Noize previously worked together on “Money” with Flo Milli  and Noize’s “Girl Crush.” The rapper with the punk aesthetic explained their collaboration in a statement.

“Me and Boys Noize started working back in 2018… We finally met in real life after being mutuals for like a year. We did one session, it was fire! And then a few months later ended up on the Friendship Cruise together (for the first time). After the cruise, we made “Money (feat. Flomilli)” and “1+1″ – a song you’ll hear very soon on this project. Fast forward again, maybe 3-4 years, and we did a couple more sessions. We kept gravitating towards techno dance music. He started putting me on to German dance music, and we traded a bunch of songs back and forth. Little by little over a few days, we ended up making three more songs that we really loved and decided we wanted to share with the world. Every session was so much fun and I’m sure that energy is felt across all of these tracks. One of my favorite songs on the project is… all of them. That’s why she is so short!! Talk to you later and see you guys soon.”

HARDCORE DR3AMZ comes on March 29th. Check out the video for “Arintintin.”

Listen: Women On Wax’s Queendom Vol. 1

Detroit’s DJ Minx has relaunched Women On Wax Recordings with Queendom Vol.1. The compilation of dance tracks from LGBTQ+ artists was released in June to recognize Pride month. The six-song track listing has music from Minx, DJ Cent, Shaun J. Wright, Nita Aviance, Sydney Blu and Debbie Graham. House and techno are equally present whether it’s DJ Cent’s tribute to Detroit’s late house king Ken Collier or Minx’s racy instrumental “Let It Ride.” The music does its job of reintroducing the label’s duty to release electronic music rooted in Detroit’s rhythms. Minx started Women On Wax as a collective of DJs and artists in 1996 and the label followed in 2001. Last year Seth Troxler’s remixes of “A Walk In The Park” were released by Factory 93 Records. In May Minx’s The Throne EP came out on Higher Ground. Queendom Vol. 1 is available on all streaming platforms.

DJ T-1000 Releases The Spectral Fusion EP

DJ T-1000 kicks off the summer with The Spectral Fusion EP. More than a year ago, he released Don’t Complain, Don’t Explain EP, which moved bodies with its bottomless drums and savage synths. The current EP intensifies the dance mania with frenetic energy and subterranean swagger. The four-track flood of rhythm has an inspirational debut to T-1000’s early love of Lenny White and John Scofield’s jazz fusion classics Streamline and Blue Matter. The former is reconsidered as a techno-funk trek replete with racing cymbals, handclaps and resounding drums. The latter’s harmony is a starting point in the tribute which rattles and hums along before rising into a mini cyclone of pummeling beats. Finally, T-1000 takes  the World Economic Forum’s once-a-year meeting in Switzerland with the electro jam “The Luciferians.” The Spectral Fusion EP is available via Bandcamp and all streaming platforms. The DJ/producer/visual artist is making his global rounds taking techno on the road as usual and the dates are below.
