The lyrical grind of The Undisputed Truth demands a witness, and the time is upon us, so show up. Tour dates below.

With a rubber-cement flow halfway between Slug’s and Slim Shady’s, and the ability to count himself as the planet’s foremost albino Muslim rapper, Brother Ali is certainly a rare persona in the hip-hop universe. – BILLBOARD

Truth should go down as one of ’07’s best rap records. – ROLLING STONE

Brother Ali’s got that sound, that drive, that believability and, crucially, that affection-inspiring passion on The Undisputed Truth. -LA WEEKLY

“Ali fuses formidable mic skills and unvarnished honesty…with a voice that veers between the tremolo authority of a storefront preacher and a syrupy baritone suited for a Mississippi Delta juke joint”- VIBE

“Producer Ant perfectly underscores Ali’s gruff cadence, simultaneously self-assured and stressed, with a melodic lope that scrunches soul vocals underneath loops of bluesy guitar.” -SPIN

Prince Loses Mind

images-17.jpeg

*There’s a new sheriff in town, and the digital maverick is on Prince’s payroll. The reclusive rock star has hired Web Sheriff, a british-based company that specializes in policing the Web for pirated content, to launch a legal campaign against YouTube, EBay, and The Pirate Bay, companies that he alleges wrongfully profit from the use of his work, according to John Giacobbi, Web Sheriff’s president.

The artist plans to file suit in both the United States and the U.K., and has hired a top Swedish law firm to take up his cause against the viral internet hotspots. Prince has chosen a legal course because sites like YouTube and eBay have left him no recourse in protecting his copyright on their sites, according to Giacobbi.

MTV Releases Statement About Kanye West

images-31.jpeg

Accentuating the positive, MTV responded to Kanye West’s blistering criticism about histreatment at the Video Music Awards by lavishing him with praise and extending an invitation to work together again.

“MTV has a long and collaborative relationship with Kanye and we hope and look forward to continuing that meaningful relationship,” MTV’s statement said Tuesday.

If so, it’s a relationship in strong need of repair.

West not only blasted MTV during an interview on New York radio station Z100 Monday – he said he felt “betrayed” – but his rage can be seen on a video sweeping the Internet showing his backstage meltdown punctuated by profanities toward the network. See video here read more

In the interview with Z100, West claimed he wasn’t mad he didn’t win, but that he took issue with the programming, including opening with an unprepared Britney Spears and relegating him to perform in a Palms Casino Resort luxury suite rather than on the main stage in the Pearl theater.
