[youtube id=”Ipj1kPN1p3g”]Camille and Teddy of NUEX unveil the process behind their recent video for “Billie.”   The duo hops in a car and drives from Maryland to Virginia for the filming of the video that is a tribute to the life of late jazz singer Billie Holiday. The actual preparation and work for the clip is lighthearted compared to the final clip that does a good job conveying the emotional gridlock that held Holiday captive to fame and addiction.

[youtube id=”zvRQTOxvJr8″]NUEX dropped the video for “Billie” today and it is a black and white production with a nostalgic feeling. Partners Camille and Teddy hang out in a dark basement as she sings about being a celebrity from the past as they share champagne. A birthday cake with five candles for “Billie” is on the table with and balloons little the floor. NUEX’s video manages to convey the same kind of intense emotion as the audio. The song is a look at the world of celebrity and the reference is to the late jazz singer Billie Holiday. They try to tap into Holiday’s suffering as a drug addict and an artist who sought the spotlight right up until her death handcuffed in a hospital bed. NUEX released their Affectus EP earlier this year in the spring. In the two years since their released their debut album, The Odyssey, they have built an international following. They were recognized in their home country with the Fonogram Hungarian Music Award for Best Electronic Music Album which is their equivalent to The Grammys. Their relaxed sound has been called sundowntempo and chillwave. “Breath” is Belau’s new single and video featuring Sophie Lindinger who stars in the video as a train traveler. The duo is currently working on their sophomore album that is slated for release in the spring of 2019. 

[youtube id=”LuBbsHb8ya4″]Kilo Kish’s Mothe EP is coming soon and the video for “Elegance” is leading the way to its release. Kish and her crew of folks dressed in furry costumes hang out and drink before she ends the night to go home. She drinks so much with her companions that she almost stumbles out of the venue. Mothe will be available September 7th.
