Stas THEE Boss, who is one-half of the Seattle R&B/hip-hop duo THEESatisfaction released Stas For Hire back in the summer. The 6-song instrumental album is a visceral funk trip.

This is a clip from Mr. Dynamite: The Rise Of James Brown, a HBO documentary that will air about Brown on October 27th at 9PMEST. Mick Jagger is the producer of the Alex Gibney-directed film that focuses on Brown’s prime years and unveils never seen before footage and interviews.

Con Funk Shun is returning with their first new album in two decades with More Than Love in early 2015. “Your Night” is a preview of their renewed sound with most of their original lineup including Michael Cooper and Felton Pilate. The funk band was very successful in the ’70’s and ’80’s with songs like “Ffun” and “Electric Lady.” Cooper says the album was a must because they still love making music and their fanbase continues to be loyal.
