The author Sapphire has been around for some time and was known for her fierce poetry before Push the novel came out in ’96 and became one of the most talked about books that year. Lee Daniels is known for being involved with movies that confront taboos and deal with broken people who transform and heal. He produced “Monster’s Ball” and directed “Shadowboxer.” Lenny Kravitz, Mariah Carey, Mo’Nique and newcomer Gabourney Sidibe make for an interesting cast.




Lil Wayne And Jalene Mack Get Ready For “Hurricane Season”


Houston, TX – Busy Houston-based attorney turned actress Jalene Mack (www.JaleneMack.com) is making her mark on the big screen. Mack worked with multi-Grammy nominee Lil Wayne on the set of the upcoming movie, “Hurricane Season” also starring Forest Whitaker, Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson and Bow Wow.

A native of New Orleans, she and the rapper turned rocker share a common Katrina bond, having both personally experienced the effects of the devastating hurricane. “Hurricane Season” which filmed in New Orleans, is based on the true story of a basketball coach who led his team to the state championship a year after Hurricane Katrina displaced many of his students. Mack is currently busy with the production of her play, “The Great Divide” running in April in Houston.
