Afropunk After Dark Schedule Will Be Hosted By Saul Williams And Have Poetry From Nikki Giovanni

Afropunk’s annual festival is taking place in Brooklyn again this year and the festival is taking place August 27th and 28th. The After Dark series will begin Thursday (August 25th) evening and end on Monday, August 29th. Saturday night Nikki Giovanni will read poetry and Saul Williams is the host. The Gza will perform with DJ Premier  Saturday night at a secret location and Angelo Moore is the host. There will be a dance party, a Black party, a performance from Laura Mvula among the many events. Tyler The Creator’s 5th Annual Camp Flog Gnaw Festival will take place in Los Angeles on November 12th and 13th at Exposition Park in partnership with Goldenvoice. This year will feature performances from Erykah Badu, Schoolboy Q, Kehlani, The Internet, DJ Mustard, Sza and more. Tickets will be available for pre-sale to Golf Media members only on Monday, August 8th at 10AM Pacific and to the general public on Tuesday, August 9th at 10AM Pacific.

The VIP GOLF Country Club Pass includes 1 VIP ticket to both Saturday and Sunday of the Carnival. This pass includes access to the exclusive VIP area located inside the Camp Flog Gnaw grounds, known as the Okaga Country Club, which will include a miniature golf course, shaded areas, charging stations, picnic tables, couches, additional restrooms, Tyler’s own waffle bar, ice cold lemonade, a full cash bar and an overall nice hang out spot.  There will also be a Pro Shop with exclusive GOLF merchandise.

Lauryn Hill Announces A Diaspora Calling! Concert Series Tour In Association With Live Nation And Tidal

Lauryn Hill is taking the MLH Caravan: A Diaspora Calling! Concert Series on tour in association with Tidal and Live Nation. She presented the first concert at the Kings theater in Brooklyn.  Ms. Hill says: The MLH Caravan allows me to continue the theme of unity and celebration of the many facets of cultural and artistic beauty throughout the African diaspora while on tour this summer and fall. In these days of tension, tumult and transition, an exchange of this kind can yield direction, expression, understanding and empowerment as well as connection, self Love and appreciation that hopefully overflows into our respective communities.”  Each show will have guest perfromance from various artists of the African diaspora.
