Meshell Ndegeocello and Lianne La Havas have teamed up to revamp Dennis Edwards’ 1984 duet with Siedah Garrett, “Don’t Look Any Further.” The reimagined track is part of Ndegeocello’s upcoming album, Synonym. She collaborated with a stellar roster of artists—including La Havas, Chaka Khan, Robert Glasper, Nick Hakim, WILLOW, and more—to reconstruct 15 songs. Ndegeocello chose the title for her third Blue Note release because she believes that at the core of all human life is a shared sameness seeking essentials like love, good food, and safe shelter. Producer David Gamson, who helped shape her earlier landmark albums Plantation Lullabies and Peace Beyond Passion, returns for the project. Synonym arrives on October 2.
