Fly Anakin’s (The) Forever Dream: Night Shift is the deluxe version of (The) Forever Dream, which was released in 2025. On this project, Fly Anakin and Quelle Chris reprise their roles as nighttime radio hosts, alongside appearances from frequent collaborators Fatima and $ilkMoney. Chris is featured among a production lineup that also includes DJ Harrison, Child Actor, Shungu, and Graymatter.
Night Shift introduces 12 new tracks, where Anakin tackles topics ranging from growing tired of romance to crime and sharp life observations. The spoken interludes lean into a “Quiet Storm” radio aesthetic rather than a traditional rap album format, even though Anakin raps as hard as ever. “Socks Over The Smoke Detector” stands out as a highlight, thanks to Fatima’s soothing vocals and Quelle Chris’s blunt lyricism: “Your favorite rappers are creeps, sneaky links, and Nazis, so I’m glad I’m not on your top five, I’d rather not be.” Throughout the project, Fly Anakin stays true to his distinct aesthetic, refusing to compromise his ideas during one of the most derivative eras in rap. An animated video was also released for the soulful track “Happiness,” featuring $ilkMoney and Henny L.O. The album drops just before Anakin hits the road for a July tour with Domo Genesis.
