Syd is returning with her first solo album in four years with Beard. “Callin'” featuring Blu June is the first single, and it’s a punchy tune despite the caller’s frustration. Syd co-produced the single with production duo Nova Wav, and Raphael Saadiq plays the bass. The video directed by Naleye J goes historical with the appearance of a phone booth, which no longer exists. Van Hunt, Rodney Jerkins, James Fauntleroy, Jordan Ward, and Big Sean are some of the guests on Beard. Syd attributes the album’s title to defying societal expectations and embracing the peach fuzz on her upper lip and her unique place in the music industry. Beard is scheduled for release on July 17, 2026.
