DJ Cent, a cornerstone of the city’s electronic music landscape since the 1990s, has officially launched Club Insomnia, airing every Friday night on Detroit’s newest radio destination, 107.1 The Beat.
Listeners can tune in to Club Insomnia locally on the dial or stream it globally via 107.1 The Beat’s official website and mobile app. Curated and hosted entirely by DJ Cent, the residency acts as a direct line to the underground, spinning deep, structural records and welcoming premier guest selectors to the airwaves—including a recent powerhouse appearance by Trecci, alongside heavy rotation of revered names like Gari Romalis, Santonio Echols, Orlando Voorn, and Paul Johnson. The Friday night showcase marks an exciting expansion for the new station, bridging the gap between urban radio waves and the city’s foundational dance music culture.
The radio residency caps off a massive wave of international momentum for DJ Cent. This past April, the long-standing underground icon crossed the Atlantic for a career milestone: her very first European appearance, headlining the Globus room at Berlin’s legendary techno institution, Club Tresor. Booked specifically for Tresor’s highly respected 313-030series—an ongoing showcase dedicated to honoring and extending the historic musical dialogue between Detroit and Berlin—DJ Cent delivered a masterful set that proved her deep-rooted Detroit sound commands a global dance floor.
Closer to home, DJ Cent also commands a dedicated international audience every Monday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST with her signature livestream show, All Hands On Deck, broadcasting live on YouTube.
Deeply entwined with the preservation of Detroit’s musical lineage, DJ Cent recently turned heads with her monumental January 2026 single, “Coming To Heaven” (available on Bandcamp). The track is a profound, soulful tribute to the late Ken Collier, universally revered as the “Godfather of Detroit House.” Far more than a standard tribute, “Coming To Heaven” features an archival sample of Collier’s actual voice. DJ Cent’s connection to his legacy runs deep; she previously donated original, physical cassette master mixes from Collier’s legendary residencies at the historic Club Heaven to the Detroit Sound Conservancy. She is locked in to headline Dreamland, a massive overnight event presented by Blueprint & Dolls Night on Friday, May 22, 2026. Running from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM at a secret Detroit location, the high-profile lineup features DJ Cent alongside Femanyst, DJ Nico (aka Lady Blacktronika), Yasmeenah, Blackmoonchild ft.
